With over 16 years of coaching experience, Coach Briones has cultivated a reputation for creating dynamic, age-appropriate training environments that foster both technical skill and a lifelong love for the game.

Throughout his career, Coach Briones has worked in various settings, including grassroots programs, elite youth academies, recreational leagues, and adult fitness and competition leagues. His holistic approach to coaching emphasizes not just technical and tactical development, but also character building, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Coach Briones holds certifications ranging from Grassroots through National Training License and continuously seeks opportunities for professional growth to stay at the forefront of modern coaching methodologies. Whether working with first-time players learning to kick a ball or advanced athletes striving for collegiate or professional aspirations, Coach Briones brings energy, patience, and a personalized approach to every training session.

Administrator Experience 

Juan Briones is a veteran sports administrator with a distinguished career spanning youth and adult soccer leagues. With a deep-rooted commitment to the growth and development of the game at all levels, Briones has held key leadership roles that have shaped the soccer landscape in Houston and beyond.

Most notably, Briones serves as President of Houston Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) for four consecutive terms.

In addition to guiding HYSA, Briones is the founder and Chairman of the EDPL Division 2 League, a competitive platform designed to bridge the gap between recreational and elite youth soccer. Since its inception, the EDPL D2 has become a vital developmental league for aspiring players and clubs seeking a structured, competitive environment with a focus on long-term player progression.

Briones’ experience extends beyond youth soccer, with a strong track record of managing and organizing adult leagues, bringing the same level of professionalism and inclusivity to programs serving adult athletes of all skill levels. Known for his collaborative leadership style and results-driven mindset, Briones has successfully navigated the complexities of grassroots sports administration while keeping the needs of players, coaches, and clubs at the forefront.
